Alix & Christian's Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin Wedding

How to be a cool, relaxed bride and groom? Take a cat-nap on your wedding day (bride!), jump into a canoe to get out on the water, take a few swings at a pinata and do a little fishing, of course! This season's first wedding was Alix & Christian's in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin; they were a super sweet and cool-as-a-cucumber couple!

The week leading up to Alix and Christian's wedding kept calling for terrible, awful storms for the weekend. Their ceremony was to be outside with the reception under a tent at North Lakeland Discovery Center. We did a few rain dances, packed our clear bubble umbrella and hoped for the best! The ceremony was next to the lake under the beautiful trees and the rain held off until the last few moments!

I'd say it was a lot more than fine!!

If it is going to downpour like no tomorrow on your wedding day with the power going out, I'd say it went the best possible way for Alix & Christian's wedding. Fast forward through the beautiful reception and moments after their first dances a huge storm hit. Luckily the venue coordinator and myself were watching the radar and got all of the tent sides up!

Cut the power, cue the lake dumping on the tent and bring together 30 guests circled on the dance floor, holding their phones all singing acapella to hit songs while dancing. The comradery with this group was something out of a movie!! As the venue coordinator made arrangements to get her own personal generator to the venue, the group on the dance floor sang and danced together to the point where you almost couldn't tell music wasn't playing. Generator arrived, music and lights back up and the party continued!

Love Notes from the Bride and Groom

"Emily was a heaven sent for the day of my wedding. It was the best decision that Christian and I made to hire her -- because we didn't have to worry about anything on our wedding day. I'm not a huge "wedding" person, Emily made it so easy for us to just be able to have fun, and not have to worry about the little details of the day. She's so sweet, amazing and made sure that everything that I needed was taken care of, including standing in the rain to keep my dry, while she got wet. Our wedding day would not have gone as smoothly as it did without her. She's truly a gem tucked away in the Northwoods."
